Far From The Tree
Directed by Michael Greif and based on Andrew Solomon’s award-winning New York Times bestseller, Far From The Tree explores universal struggles in parenting through the lens of families with extraordinary children. Framed by Solomon’s own atypical path to parenthood, along with a complication in the birth of his newborn son, this new musical explores the daunting tension all parents face between helping their children and accepting who they are, and the unexpected joys that emerge from that struggle. The work-in-progress features music by Robert Maggio, lyrics by Kristin Maloney, and a book by Justin Warner, with music direction and arrangements by Lynne Shankel.
