Veteran Yard artist Marta Renzi mentors a diverse group of bright choreographic talent. The 2012 Bessie Schönberg Choreographers are Adam Barruch, Jon Kinzel, Jimena Paz and Marya Wethers. During their three-week residency, the choreographers will work with collaborating performers to create brand new work developed while on island. Join us to see where all the new research and Vineyard inspiration take these emerging creators in the works-in-progress performance.

The Yard is an artist's colony nestled among the hills of Chilmark. It was founded in 1973 by Patricia Nanon and consists of a 100-seat theatre, a studio, and artists' housing on over two acres of lush landscaping. Each year choreographers compete for the coveted opportunity to develop their work culminating in a summer performance for eager Vineyard audiences.
