Author Series: An Evening with Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
The Henry Louis Gates, Jr. Reader chronicles three decades of essays, op-eds, interviews, and other writings of Professor Gates and his path breaking work in restoring African American genealogy. Gates is the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor and Director of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard University. Those who were at the 2009 Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival will recall Mr. Gates’ fascinating discussion following his front porch arrest and his subsequent meeting with the President at the White House. We are delighted to welcome him back to the Chilmark Community Center. This is a ticketed event. One admission is $10. One book and two admissions tickets are $30.
