FIRST SET: Enjoy an evening of jazz with Nasheet Waits. Son of legendary drummer Freddie Waits, he is hailed as "One of the most important drummers in jazz today". Nasheet started his professional career as a member of the percussion ensemble M’Boom. Then reedman Antonio Hart asked Waits to originate the percussion chair of his first quintet in 1992. Waits remained a member of Hart’s ensembles, recording three albums and touring. Now part of Jason Moran’s Bandwagon, with Taurus Mateen on bass, they are known as one of the most exciting rhythm sections in jazz today.

Physical tickets will NOT be mailed in advance but WILL be issued for all Martha's Vineyard Jazz Festival events. Details on ticket pick-up, hours and location will be emailed in advance to all ticket holders. Bring your email confirmation and/or ID to pick-up tickets. ID must match name on order. Doors open at 6pm, Show starts at 7pm.
