SECOND SET: Enjoy an evening of jazz with Nasheet Waits. The son of legendary drummer Freddie Waits, he is hailed as "One of the most important drummers in jazz today". Nasheet started his professional career as a member of the percussion ensemble M’Boom. Then reedman Antonio Hart asked Waits to originate the percussion chair of his first quintet in 1992. Waits remained a member of Hart’s ensembles, recording three albums and touring. Now part of Jason Moran’s Bandwagon, with Taurus Mateen on bass, they are known as one of the most exciting rhythm sections in jazz today.
