A highly sophisticated crackpot? A prophet? It depends whom you ask. Ray Kurzweil's inventions have made him a millionaire several times over, and he thinks that one day humans may be able to live forever. Transcendent Man chronicles Kurzweil’s life and ideas, specifically focusing on his bold vision of Singularity, a point in the near future when technology will be changing so rapidly that we will have to enhance ourselves with artificial intelligence to keep up. Ray predicts this will be the dawning of a new civilization in which there will be no clear distinction between human and machine, actual reality and virtual reality. Ray’s controversial ideas will excite and frighten you—and change the way you look at life, death & the future.
